Warriors sweep Bears, earn first MIL victory of the season

Hoala Alapai had 10 kills to lead the Kamehameha Schools Maui girls volleyball team to its first Maui Interscholastic League victory of the season, a three-set win over Baldwin on Thursday night at Kaulaheanuiokamoku Gym in Pukalani.

Taylor Morita had 25 assists and eight digs for the Warriors (1-1), who won 25-15, 28-26, 25-11. Logan Spencer had eight kills and two aces.

Baldwin fell to 1-2.

King Kekaulike 3, Lahainaluna 0

At Pukalani, Nina Macphetridge had 13 kills and nine digs as Na Alii defeated the Lunas 25-13, 25-10, 25-16.

Nanna Inoue posted 18 digs for King Kekaulike, which improved to 3-0. Kalena Vaivai had four aces, two kills and 25 assists, and Temahh Shaw added five kills and two blocks.

Lahainaluna fell to 1-1.
