Silverswords not in tournament, but Bovaird on hand to help youth

First photo: Chaminade University men’s basketball coach Eric Bovaird instructs a dribbling drill during the Maui Jim Maui Invitational Hoops Clinic presented by HMSA on Sunday afternoon at the Lahaina Civic Center Outdoor DreamCourt. Over 100 children in grades 3-8 participated in the free clinic. Chaminade, host of the Maui Invitational, is not in the tournament for the first time in the event’s 35-year history — the Silverswords will be part of the field every other year. While his team is not competing on the Valley Isle, Bovaird said he will be at games this week. Second photo: Clinic participants make their way across the court during a drill. Third photo: Bovaird talks to the players.
