King Kekaulike and Seabury Hall both advance to 5th-place matches
Both Maui Interscholastic League boys soccer champions will play for fifth place in their respective divisions today at The Queen’s Medical Center/HHSAA state championships at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Complex.
MIL Division I champ King Kekaulike High School beat Kalani 5-1 in its consolation semifinal Friday.
Connor Prados scored twice for the second-seeded Na Alii (9-1-2), in the fourth and 43rd minutes; Cole Uyehara added two late goals, in the 74th and 77th minutes; and Jhoel Sarraude scored in the 11th minute.
Noa Wiegand scored Kalani’s goal 32nd minute.
Seabury Hall (1-10-1), the only MIL Division II team, won its first game of the season, 8-0 over Waialua.
Louie Smith scored three goals, in the fifth, 59th and 74th minutes; Keala Frost scored twice, in the 13th and 31th minutes, Parker Timmons scored in the 65th and 80th minutes, and Max Desilva also had a goal, in the 62nd minute.
Both MIL matches today are set for 3 p.m. — King Kekaulike will meet No. 1-seeded Hawaii Preparatory Academy, last season’s state co-champions with Baldwin. Seabury Hall will play Makua Lani.
