Na Alii place fifth in D-I state soccer

The King Kekaulike boys soccer team claimed fifth place in The Queen’s Medical Center/HHSAA Division I State Championship with a 3-1 win over Hawaii Prep on Saturday at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Complex on Oahu.
Jhoel Sarraude scored in the 5th and 29th minutes for the Maui Interscholastic League champion Na Alii (10-1-2). King Kekaulike also got a goal from Connor Prados in the 13th minute.
Jake Schneider scored the lone goal for Hawaii Prep (16-3-0), last year’s co-state champion with Baldwin.
In the Division II consolation final, Seabury Hall lost to Makua Lani 2-1.
Evan Houle scored in the 77th minute for the Spartans (1-11-1). Makua Lani (12-7-1) got two goals from Isaiah Easley.
