Bears get back to .500 with 12-2, five-inning victory over Warriors

The Baldwin High School softball team banged out 17 hits in a 12-2, five-inning win over Kamehameha Maui on Saturday at Patsy Mink Field in Kahului.

Lia Castillo, Saree-Ann Kekahuna, Sammy Martinez, Avei Silifaiva, L.B. Kekona and Aliya Harmon all had two hits for the Bears, who improved to 2-2 in Maui Interscholastic League Division I play.

Castillo knocked in three runs, while Kekahuna, Silifaiva and Kekona all had two RBIs.

Kacey Sakamoto and Kayla Tuaoa combined on a five-hitter in the circle for Baldwin.

Five different players had one hit for the Warriors (2-2).
