Bears open with win over Spartans

MIL WATER POLO

Kristi Kimura and Audrey Reiss each scored three goals, and the Baldwin High School water polo team started defense of its Maui Interscholastic League title with a 12-1 win over Seabury Hall on Saturday afternoon at Kamehameha Maui in Pukalani.

Jessica Baker and Jacsen Donohue each had two goals, and Naomi Takakura and Taryn Sato also scored for the Bears (2-0), who earned their first win of the season via forfeit earlier in the week.

Bella Otterson scored the lone goal for the Spartans (0-2).

Also Saturday, Ashlyn Robinson scored six goals to lead Maui High (2-0) to a 14-6 win over Kamehameha Maui (0-2), and King Kekaulike (2-0) beat Lahainaluna (0-2) 5-2.
