Russell leads Spartans to four-set win over Dragons

Freshman Tyler Russell had 14 kills, six digs and two blocks to help lead the Seabury Hall boys volleyball team to a four-set victory over Hana on Saturday at the Dragons’ gym.

Kalai Anderson and Carter Phillips each had 11 kills as the Spartans won 25-16, 25-23, 21-25, 25-18 to improve to 4-0 in Maui Interscholastic League play. Anderson also had four blocks and five digs, while Chase Keating added five kills and 11 digs.

Nahinu Lind led the Dragons (0-4) with 16 kills and was also in on three blocks. Keoki Hoopai-Waikoloa had 12 kills and four aces, Kaawaloa Shamblin had six kills and Chayton Keegan finished with five kills, four blocks and two aces.
