Maui Spring Open jiu jitsu tourney on Sunday

The Hawaii Triple Crown of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu will hold the Maui Spring Open on Sunday at War Memorial Gym in Wailuku.

The event — the third stop of this year’s Hawaii Jiu Jitsu Tour — includes children and adult divisions. Competition starts at 10 a.m.

The deadline to register is 11:59 p.m. tonight. The cost is $90 for adults, $70 for kids.

Proceeds benefit Project Hawaii Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to helping homeless youth in the state.

Lahaina Town Golf Classic set for May 4

The seventh annual Lahaina Town Golf Classic, hosted by the LahainaTown Action Committee, is scheduled for May 4 at the Royal Kaanapali Golf Course.

The tournament, which benefits the Lahaina Junior Golf Association, is a four-golfer scramble, with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.

The entry fee ranges from $150 to $200 per player, and includes a golf cart and awards luncheon, which will also have a silent auction.

Since 2013, the LAC has donated over $30,000 to Lahaina Junior Golf.
