Vu wins Anuenue Classic, leads UCLA to team title
Lilia Vu of UCLA completed a wire-to-wire victory in the Anuenue Spring Break Classic on Wednesday, closing with a 1-under-par 71 at the Kapalua Bay Course to finish at 12-under 204 for a seven-shot win.
UCLA also won the team title.
Vu had six birdies and five bogeys in her round, and was the only player to shoot under par all three days.
Arizona State’s Monica Vaughn was the runner-up, carding a 68 to finish at 211, one shot better than San Jose State’s My Leander (70).
Utah Valley’s Kaylee Shimizu, a Baldwin High School graduate, closed with an 86 to finish tied for 71st at 243.
UCLA posted the lowest team round of the tournament, a 280, for a 12-under total of 852. Arizona State (289) was second at 869.
