MIL volleyball: Warriors defeat Na Alii in D-I overall championship match
Kamehameha Schools Maui defeated King Kekaulike 12-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-27, 15-12 in the Maui Interscholastic League Division I girls volleyball overall championship match Saturday at Jon Garcia Gym in Wailuku.
Talia Leauanae had 18 kills and 17 digs for the Warriors (13-1), who won the MIL D-I title for the eighth time in 11 years and stopped Na Alii’s three-year reign.
Chandler Cowell finished with 16 kills and 14 digs for King Kekaulike (9-6).
Na Alii will host a state tournament first-round match Monday against Mililani. The Warriors are seeded third in the tournament, and will play a quarterfinal on Thursday in Honolulu against the winner of Monday’s match between Iolani and Waianae.
