Rainbow Warriors sweep Waves for 10th straight victory

Stijn van Tilburg had 15 kills to lead the fourth-ranked University of Hawaii men’s volleyball team to a sweep of No. 10 Pepperdine, 25-21, 25-19, 25-11, on Friday night at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu.
Kupono Fey added 10 kills for the Rainbow Warriors, who won their 10th straight match to improve to 15-2, 6-2 in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation play.
Jennings Franciskovic had 34 assists, Larry Tuileta had nine digs and Patrick Gasman had three blocks for UH.
Tilburg had just one error in 19 swings to hit a blazing .737 for the match. As a team, Hawaii hit .477.
Mitchell Penning led the Waves (6-6, 4-5) with 11 kills.
The teams play again Sunday.
