Wie falls nine behind, into tie for 24th place
PHOENIX (AP) — Michelle Wie of Honolulu fell into a tie for 24th place in the third round of the Founders Cup on Saturday, likely meaning her winless streak on the LPGA Tour will reach 63 starts.
Wie, who began the day a shot out of the lead, had an even-par 72 at Wildfire Golf Club, finishing the day at 12-under 204 — nine shots behind Anna Nordqvist, who moved to the front in record-setting fashion.
Nordqvist shot a tournament-record 11-under 61 to take a two-stroke lead over Stacy Lewis and Ariya Jutanugarn. Nordqvist also broke the tournament 54-hole record by reaching 21-under 195.
Lewis and Jutanugarn, co-leaders at the halfway point, each shot 66.
