The University of Hawaii men’s volleyball team clinched a home match in the quarterfinal round of next week’s Mountain Pacific Sports Federation tournament by defeating UCLA 26-28, 25-23, 25-21, 25-28 on Friday in Los Angeles.
Kupono Fey had 13 kills for the fourth-ranked Rainbow Warriors (23-4, 13-4 MPSF). Larry Tuileta had 13 digs and Jennings Franciskovic had 43 assists and eight digs.
Hawaii will be the No. 3 seed in the conference tournament, which begins April 15.
Jake Arnitz had 20 digs for the sixth-ranked Bruins (17-8, 10-7).
The teams are to meet again today.
