GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) — Brooke Henderson won the Meijer Classic on Sunday for her fourth LPGA Tour title, finishing two shots ahead of Lexi Thompson and Honolulu’s Mi-chelle Wie in cool, windy conditions.
Henderson closed with a 66 at Blythefield Country Club, which was reduced to a par of 69 for the final two rounds because of flooding — the fifth hole was played as a par 3 instead of a par 5. She finished at 17-under 263.
Wie finished with a bogey-free 65, and Thompson had a 69.
Wie was four shots back and tied for seventh after 54 holes but shared the lead early in her final round.
“It was tough out there,” Wie said. “The wind just started blowing and it was just interesting. Some spots are really wet, some spots are dry, but overall I felt like I played good this week and I’m happy about it.”
Wie has finished in the top six in four of her last seven events, and five times overall this year, but remains winless since earning her fourth career tour victory in 2014 at the U.S. Women’s Open.
