Rainbow Wahine serve up sweep of Lumberjacks

Norene Iosia had 24 assists, 12 digs and five of the University of Hawaii’s 13 service aces as the Rainbow Wahine volleyball team swept past Northern Arizona on Friday night at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu.

Emily Maglio had a match-high 10 kills and six blocks as UH dominated the first of two matches against the Lumberjacks, 25-12, 25-10, 25-12.

Clare Anderson and Savanah Kahakai each had three aces as the Rainbow Wahine (5-5) broke the school record for aces in a three-set match during the rally-scoring era — the previous record was 11, accomplished four times, most recently in 2008 against Utah Valley.

Kaylie Jorgenson had nine kills to lead Northern Arizona (4-6).

The teams play again today.
