University of Hawaii and Miami players battle for a loose ball during the first half of the Rainbow Warriors’ 75-57 loss to the sixth-ranked Hurricanes in a Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic first-round game Friday night at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu. While the game was close early on — the teams were tied at 33 at the half — Miami pulled away to improve to 10-0. Dewan Huell and Ja’Quan Newton each had 16 points to lead Miami. Sheriff Drammeh scored 17 points for the Rainbow Warriors (7-3), who will face Davidson in a consolation semifinal today.
