UH beats Long Beach State for first Big West win

The University of Hawaii women’s basketball team won its first Big West game of the season Saturday with a 74-66 victory over Long Beach State at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu.

The Rainbow Wahine improved to 8-9 overall and 1-3 in the Big West.

Sarah Toeaina and Julissa Tago each scored 15 points for UH, while Makenna Woodfolk added 14 and Lahni Salanoa had 11.

LBSU (2-16, 0-4) was led by Shanaijah Davidson, who had 20 points.

Hawaii outrebounded the 49ers 45-25 in the game.

UH next plays at UC Riverside on Thursday and at UC Irvine on Saturday.
