Rainbow Wahine lose to 49ers in overtime

The University of Hawaii women’s basketball team dropped an 85-80 overtime decision on the road to Long Beach State on Saturday despite Sarah Toeaina’s 24 points and 16 rebounds.
The Rainbow Wahine dominated the third quarter — outscoring the 49ers 25-9 — to take a 53-44 lead, but LBSU responded with a 26-17 advantage in the fourth quarter to send the game to overtime. In the extra period, the 49ers (6-22, 4-10 Big West Conference) outscored UH 15-10.
Lahni Salanoa added 16 points for Hawaii (11-16, 4-10), but no one else had more than nine points. Shanaijah Davison led five double-figure scorers for LBSU with 22 points.
Hawaii finishes the regular season with UC Santa Barbara on Thursday and Cal Poly on Saturday this week at the Stan Sheriff Center.
