Rainbow Wahine swept by Kansas State in opener

The University of Hawaii women’s volleyball team was swept by Kansas State 25-21, 29-27, 25-20 on Saturday night in both teams’ season opener that was played in a nearly empty Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu.

The match was closed to the public due to Tropical Storm Lane.

McKenna Granato had 14 kills and 11 digs, and Casey Castillo added 11 kills for the Rainbow Wahine.

Kylee Zumach led the Wildcats with 19 kills.

The teams play again today at 2 p.m. The match will be open to the public and televised on Spectrum Sports.
