Leah Salanoa posted her first career double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough as the University of Hawaii women’s basketball team fell to Portland 72-65 Friday afternoon at Stan Sheriff Center during the Bank of Hawaii Classic.

The Rainbow Wahine (0-4) shot 35.9 percent from the floor and couldn’t get into a rhythm as they trailed the Pilots (3-0) 17-15 after the first quarter and 31-30 at halftime.

Makenna Woodfolk and Julissa Tago scored 11 and 10 points, respectively. All of UH’s losses have come by eight points or less.

Haylee Andrews and Darlan Slaga led the Pilots with 17 points apiece.

The Rainbow Wahine will look to get into the win column when they take on Seattle University on Sunday.
