UH women fall to American 69-57

Despite shooting 46.7 percent from the field, the University of Hawaii women’s basketball team lost to American 69-57 in the Rainbow Wahine Showdown on Friday night at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu.

Makenna Woodfolk had 19 points and 10 rebounds and Leah Salanoa added 12 points for the Rainbow Wahine.

The major difference was at the free-throw line — the Eagles (3-1) made 36 of their 40 attempts, while UH (1-4) reached the foul line just 16 times, making nine shots.

The Rainbow Wahine next play Florida Gulf Coast today.
