Rainbow Warriors beat A&M 71-63

Eddie Stansbury scored 26 points and Zigmars Raimo added 14 to lead the University of Hawaii men’s basketball team to a 71-63 win over Alabama A&M on Saturday at the Stan Sheriff Center.

The Rainbow Warriors finished their nonconference slate at 9-5. They open Big West Conference play on Jan. 9 against Cal State Fullerton at the SSC.

Stansbury and Raimo combined to shoot 15-for-29 from the floor, but their teammates combined to go just 9-for-25.

Hawaii outrebounded Alabama A&M 38-29, but the Bulldogs (1-11) finished with a 26-9 advantage in bench points.
