Leah Salanoa had 14 points and Makenna Woodfolk added 10 as the University of Hawaii women’s basketball team defeated UC Santa Barbara 47-35 on Saturday in Santa Barbara, Calif.

The win marks the first time the Rainbow Wahine, who won at Cal Poly on Thursday, have notched back-to-back conference road wins since the 2016-17 season.

UH led by as many as 10 points early in the second quarter before the Gauchos rallied over the period and took a 21-19 lead into halftime.

The Rainbow Wahine were able to finally wrestle back the lead when Woodfolk’s jumper with 1:38 left in the third quarter put them up 29-27. UH then outscored Santa Barbara 15-8 in the final period to seal the win.

The Rainbow Wahine improved to 7-11 overall, 3-2 in Big West Conference play.

Natalia Bruening led the Gauchos (4-14, 1-4) with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

UH returns home to host UC Riverside on Wednesday and Cal Poly next Saturday.
