Alexander helps UH rout Cal Poly

Jadynn Alexander scored 15 points, and Lauren Rewers and Julissa Tago each added 11 to lead the University of Hawaii women’s basketball team to a 70-52 victory over Cal Poly on Saturday at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu.

Tia Kanoa had eight assists and three steals with only two turnovers as the Rainbow Wahine improved to 8-12 overall, 4-3 in Big West Conference play.

Hawaii never trailed in the blowout, taking a 19-6 lead after the first quarter.

Devin Stanback and Hana Vesela each scored eight points to lead the Mustangs (4-14, 1-6).

UH goes back on the road next week with games at UC Irvine on Thursday and Long Beach State on Saturday.
