WHALES, OCEAN AND ART AT LAHAINA TOWN PARTY
Celebrate the migration of humpback whales at Lahaina Whale and Ocean Arts Festival during the weekly town party from 5 to 8:45 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Kamehameha III Elementary School. GOLDEN TICKET AND FUN FOUND AT BALDWIN PLAY
Grab your golden ticket and prepare to visit Willy Wonka’s mysterious chocolate factory in Baldwin Theatre Guild’s annual spring musical, “Willy Wonka.” Performances are at 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and at 2 p.m. Sundays, opening Friday and running through March 17. KEIKI INVITED TO EXPLORE NATURE IN FULL BLOOM
Children in kindergarten through second grade can witness nature in bloom, discover how plants produce fruit, why bees love flowers and why pollinators are so important to our ecosystem from 9 to 11 a.m. during Secrets of Flowers event at Hawai’i Nature Center in Wailuku (8785 Iao Valley Rd.). TAVANA ASTOUNDS WITH HIS FULL-BAND SOUNDS
A one-man band from Honolulu, Tavana displays his innovative artistry at 7:30 p.m. in McCoy Studio Theater at the MACC. EXPLORE REEFS, HISTORY ON GUIDED CYCLING TRIP
Maui Cycle Exploration Project, a monthly ride series, leads intermediate to advanced cyclists round trip to ‘Ahihi-Kina’u Natural Area Reserve from Kalama Park Pavilion in Kihei, peddling off at 7:45 a.m. from the park location. SELF-DEFENSE WORKSHOP FOR TEENS AND ADULTS
Maui Ki-Aikido will offer a Self-Defense Workshop open to adults and teens from 10 a.m. to noon at the Shunshinkan Dojo (194 South Market) in Wailuku, across from the Wailuku Gym. The workshop will cover fundamentals of awareness and calmness in movement, as well as a few simple self-defense techniques. The cost is $10, and no preregistration is necessary, although participants are asked to come by 9:45 a.m. to sign a waiver and register.
