Must Go: 54th Annual Makawao Rodeo Parade

MOSEY ON UP TO MAKAWAO FOR MUCH-LOVED ANNUAL RODEO PARADE.

Always a family favorite, the annual Makawao Rodeo Parade is an anticipated Upcountry event in connection with July 4th and the Makawao Rodeo. Fun activities for all ages include face painting, rummage sale and the Stick Horse Race kicking off at 8:30 a.m., with the parade stepping off at 9 a.m. on Baldwin Avenue through Makawao town and ending at Eddie Tam Gym on Makawao Avenue. Parking is available at Oskie Rice Arena with a free shuttle to Makawao town from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Also, don’t miss the third annual Fourth of July Chili Cook-off, which is open to the public for taste-testing complete with your own score card for each batch! If you need energy to get your day going, try the Paniolo Pancake Breakfast for $5, which includes pancakes and Portuguese sausage available for pick up at Habibi restaurant on Baldwin Avenue. Proceeds benefit Makawao Museum.
