Free festival inspires ukulele play and family togetherness

Enjoy a relaxed afternoon on the lawn of the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s A&B Amphitheater as acclaimed ukulele musicians fill the air with Hawaii’s favorite instrument. The free fun kicks off at 1 p.m. (gates open at 12:30 p.m.) with Roy Sakuma serving as emcees. Among this year’s impressive lineup are Paula Fuga, Kanekoa, Ahumanu, Derick Sebastian, Kamakakehau Fernandez, The Hula Honeys, Andrew & Jay Molina, Anthony Pfluke, Arlie Asiu, Kalama Intermediate School ‘Ukulele Band, Nick Acosta, Maui ‘Ukulele Sisters: Regan & Brianna Timmins and the Seabury Hall Hawaiian Ensemble. (artists subject to change). Ukuleles will be featured as door prizes. Peruse made-in-Hawaii arts and crafts. Island foods are available for purchase. Admission is free.
