‘MRS. KRISHNAN’S PARTY’ AT CASTLE THEATER
“Mrs. Krishnan’s Party,” will begin at 7:30 p.m. at MACC’s Castle Theater. The comedy seats the audience around the dining table and at the kitchen bench in the back room of an Indian-run convenience store. Now that her son is grown up, Mrs. Krishnan is thinking of selling the shop. It’s Onam, a time to celebrate life, death and rebirth and Mrs. Krishnan has to throw the party of her life. Over one joyous evening, Mrs. Krishnan’s Party transforms strangers into friends through laughter, tears, music and food. Audience seating is on the Castle Theater stage. Seating limited. ‘A PIECE OF MY HEART’ CONTINUES AT SEABURY
Seabury Hall Performing Arts continues “A Piece of My Heart” by Shirley Lauro, directed by Marsha Kelly. Performances are at 7 p.m. tonight and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at the A’ali’ikuhonua Creative Arts Center on the Seabury Hall campus in Makawao. GUITAR VIRTUOSO TOBY WALKER
Internationally acclaimed artist Toby Walker will perform at 7:30 p.m. in MACC’s McCoy Studio Theater. Walker has been hailed as an award-winning roots music finger-style guitar virtuoso and songwriter who has toured the U.S., UK and Europe. Blending the styles of blues, ragtime, country, bluegrass, old-time jazz and rock, Walker has his own style and has received numerous awards, including the first place at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis and the N.Y. Music Award for best instrumental CD. Walker has also been inducted into the New York Blues Hall Of Fame. Tickets: $38, $48 (plus applicable fees).
MARCH MELE ON MARKET STREET
Wailuku First Friday will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. on Market Street. This month’s theme is March Mele. Live music on the Maui Thing Stage includes keiki of Punana Leo O Maui from 6 to 6:30 p.m., Kaniala Masoe from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and Kahalawai from 8 to 9 p.m. The Banyan Tree Stage will showcase the Natalie Nicole Band from 6 to 9 p.m.
FINAL WEEKEND FOR ‘DISNEY’S ALADDIN JR.’
Baldwin Theatre Guild presents “Disney’s Aladdin JR.,” directed by Linda Carnevale, choreographed by Erin Kowalick and Rachel Lockhart and under the musical direction of Tana Larson. Performances are at 7 p.m. tonight, 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Baldwin Auditorium on Baldwin High School campus in Wailuku. Tickets are $12 adults, $10 seniors, $7 students 12 to 17, $5 11 and younger and are available at the box office 45 minutes before showtime.

‘GUTSY WOMEN’ SHOW IN KIHEI
Women will gather to celebrate International Women’s Day with a “Gutsy Women” showcase at 2 p.m. at ProArts Playhouse in Kihei. Inspired by Akaku radio’s weekly talk show, “Gutsy Women,” this showcase will feature music, poetry and song by women who have been guests on the radio. Hosted and produced by Amorah St. John, these local shows honor women’s stories and their contributions to the Maui community. The event will showcase performances by some of these women. The showcase is a co-production of the ProArts Playhouse and Aloha Media Productions. A portion of the proceeds will support Women Helping Women. THEO VON DARK ARTS TOUR
Comedian Theo Von will perform at 7:30 p.m. in MACC’s Castle Theater. Von recently performed to large sold-out theaters across the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Scandinavia and Australia on his Dark Arts Tour. He is well- known for his Netflix special “No Offense” (2015) and will be releasing his upcoming special this fall. His two podcasts, “This Past Weekend” and “King and the Sting,” are two of the top comedy podcasts today. This show may contain mature subject matter. Tickets: $29, $35 (plus applicable fees).
‘THE ANTS AND THE GRASSHOPPERS’
Maui OnStage Youth Theater presents “The Ants and the Grasshoppers” by Ross Mihalko and Donna Swift, directed by Jessica Nelson. Performances are at 11 a.m. Saturdays and 1 p.m. Sundays through March 15 at Historic Iao Theater. Tickets are $10 adults, $6 children. ‘OUT OF ORDER’ OPENS AT PROARTS PLAYHOUSE
ProArts presents “Out of Order” by Ray Cooney, directed by David Belew. Performances this weekend are at 7:30 p.m. today and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. Shows will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from March 12 through March 21 with matinees at 3 p.m. Sundays through March 22 at the ProArts Playhouse in Kihei. Tickets are $27. SPRING POPS EXPLORES AMERICAN SONGBOOK
Capathia Jenkins returns to the Maui Pops Orchestra stage at 3 p.m. in MACC’s Castle Theater. Jenkins will share the spotlight with vocalist/pianist, Tony DeSare. DeSare was named the 2009 Rising Star Male Vocalist in Downbeat magazine. Along with the 50-plus member Maui Pops Orchestra, these two talents will explore the Great American Songbook, featuring the music of George & Ira Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Richard Rodgers & Lorenz Hart and more. Tickets: $22, $35, $50, $60 (plus applicable fees). Half price for students 18 and younger with ID except for $22 seats. Patrons who purchase tickets to all four shows in the Maui Pops series (Dec. 15, Jan. 26, Feb. 23, and March 8) will receive a 10 percent discount off each ticket. ART MAUI 2020 EXHIBIT AT SCHAEFER GALLERY
Art Maui 2020 opens from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today through April 3 in the Schaefer International Gallery at MACC (also open before Castle Theater shows and during intermission). The 42nd annual juried show features an array of work from Maui’s artist community and showcases talents across a wide spectrum of media. Visitors can look forward to seeing works in painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, fiber, jewelry, sculpture and mixed media. Free admission.
MANA’O MOON PARTY ON ALTITUDE DECK
Mana’o Radio presents Mana’o Moon Party from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Altitude Deck, 650 Lipoa Parkway (rooftop at Kihei Charter School) in Kihei. BALDWIN HIGH BAND CONCERT
Baldwin High School Band will take the stage in Castle Theater at 7 p.m. for MACC’s annual School Band Concert Series. These concerts allow the next generation of musicians to experience the same world-class stage setting that the superstars enjoy. The public is invited to support Maui’s hard-working young performing artists by attending the concert. Admission is free.
