The dynamic duo of Tommy Wiseau and Greg Sestero have reunited in this new film, plus bonus content, screening Friday and Monday. When a drifter is taken in by a peculiar mortician, the two hatch an underground enterprise off the back of the mortician’s old habits. But greed, hatred and jealousy soon come in turn, and their efforts unravel, causing the drifter to run off with the spoils and leaving the mortician adrift — it’s a dark, strange journey that reminds you why we all fell in love with this amazing duo in the first place.

Fathom Events and The Met: Live in HD present a broadcast of “Mozart’s Cosi Fan Tutte,” live in select cinemas nationwide Saturday only. A winning cast comes together for Phelim McDermott’s clever vision of Mozart’s comedy about the sexes, set in a carnival-esque environment inspired by 1950s Coney Island. Manipulating the action are the Don Alfonso of Christopher Maltman and the Despina of Tony Award-winner Kelli O’Hara, with Amanda Majeski, Serena Malfi, Ben Bliss and Adam Plachetka as the pairs of young lovers who test each other’s faithfulness. David Robertson conducts.

To commemorate the opening on Friday of this milestone production achievement, Maui Mayor Alan Arakawa and County Film Commissioner Tracy Bennett joins writer/director Brian Kohne (a Baldwin High School grad), producer Stefan Schaefer and star Moronai Kenekoa (Maui High School grad) plus members of the cast and crew at the Maui Mall’s center stage in front of the Maui Mall Megaplex. There will be a free family-friendly screening of “Kuleana,” as well, between 3 and 6 p.m. Enjoy live music, free movie posters and autograph sessions with the stars, drawings for film-related prizes and more.

This true story follows the life of Bart Millard, lead singer of the Christian band MercyMe, who loses his father to cancer and inspires him to write the mega-hit song, I Can Only Imagine. Starring J. Michael Finley, Madeline Carroll and Dennis Quaid.

Everyone deserves a great love story, but for 17-year-old Simon Spier, it’s a little more complicated. He hasn’t told his family or friends that he’s gay, and he doesn’t know the identity of the anonymous classmate that he’s fallen for online. Resolving both issues proves hilarious, terrifying and life-changing. Starring Nick Robinson, Katherine Langford and Josh Duhamel.

“MY PERFECT YOU” Unrated, 2:01. Drama, romance. Kaahumanu 6.

It tells the accidental meeting of Burn who is lost in his life after a heartbreak and Abi who is the lively owner of a hostel, Happy Sunshine Camp. Will they find the perfect love for them or will they have to have heartbreak again? Starring Gerald Anderson, Pia Wurtzbach and Tonton Gutierrez.

“PACIFIC RIM: UPRISING” PG-13, 1:51. Action/adventure. Kaahumanu 6.

Jake Pentecost, son of Stacker Pentecost, reunites with Mako Mori to lead a new generation of Jaeger pilots, including rival Lambert and 15-year-old hacker Amara, against a new Kaiju threat. Starring John Boyega, Scott Eastwood and Cailee Spaeny.

The story covers Paul’s journey from the most infamous persecutor of Christians to Jesus Christ’s most influential apostle as two men struggle against a determined emperor and the frailties of the human spirit in order to live out the Gospel of Jesus.
