To have your class, workshop or presentation included in this free listing, email its title, instructor, location, dates, start/end times, cost and brief description to currents@mauinews.com. • Keiki art class, “Animal Kindness Club” with Barbara Steinberg will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through March 6 at Maui Bridge Club, Kenolio Recreation Center, 131 South Kihei Road, Kihei. Winter drawing and painting classes available for keiki ages 6 to 14. Cost is $155 or $10 per class. For more information or to register for the class, call 269-6845.

• Business workshops. The following County of Maui Mayor’s Office of Economic Development workshops will be held at Maui County Business Resource Center, Maui Mall, Suite B-9. To reserve a seat, call 270-5770. Workshops are free unless otherwise noted.

** “Government Contracting 101” with Joey Tavares will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. In this workshop, students learn about the basic requirements needed for doing work with the government. Garnering a government contract is based on competitive bidding. As a participant in this workshop, students learn about the mandatory registration requirements and special certifications that could give them an edge, including how to find what the government is looking for.

** “Maximize your Social Security Benefits” with Lis Arcienega will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Would you like to learn more about the intricacies of the Social Security program — how it works, eligibility, delayed benefits, filing options, spousal benefits and more? How about getting information about the implications of working after collecting benefits, taxation and other considerations that can impact your filing decisions? This workshop will give you a clearer understanding so you can make the Social Security decision that is right for you.
