Hawaii Food & Wine fest to announce lineup

While the Maui portion of the Hawai’i Food & Wine Festival won’t transpire until Oct. 18 to 20 at various venues in Ka’anapali Resort, a launch party to announce the statewide lineup of superstar chefs and winemakers will be held Friday evening at the Kahala Hotel & Resort on Oahu.

The Hawai’i Food & Wine Festival will be hosting three mouthwatering events featuring local stars and international talent in Ka’anapali Beach Resort. The Roy’s 22nd annual Golf Classic will kick off the weekend on Oct. 18, followed by a food, craft cocktail and wine tasting event on Saturday evening and an Italian-themed dinner on Sunday, Oct. 20.

Celebrity Chef Rick Bayless will be a big part of the launch party, No Borders. Attendees can experience his Mexican flavors and dishes by nine Hawaii chefs who will craft dishes inspired by the traditional cuisines of their own heritage and a fireworks finale.

The chefs who will be cooking at the Festival launch party are: Rachel Alvarado of Kona Coffee Purveyors; Chai Chaowasaree of Chef Chai; Vikram Garg of TMG Hospitality; Daisuke Hamamoto of Arancino Ristorante Italiano; Wayne Hirabayashi of The Kahala Hotel & Resort; Mark Noguchi of Pili Group; Xue Chong Ruan of Tim Ho Wan; Anthony Rush of Senia; and Sheldon Simeon of Lineage.
