Internship deadline fast approaching
The deadline for interested applicants to apply to the Na Hua Ho’ohuli i ka Pono Ho’oilo 2019-20 Program is fast approaching. Completed applications and all required documents must be received by 4 p.m., Monday, June 10.
Participants of this program will have the opportunity to learn valuable skills to prepare them for future careers with a foundation in environmental ethics, while developing key leadership skills that are important for advancing the protection of Maui’s natural resources.
The program runs Oct. 14 – June 6, 19 hours per week. Participants earn a bi-weekly living allowance of $475 and are eligible to earn two AmeriCorps Education Awards totalling $2,579 to apply towards higher education costs or student loans.
Host agencies for this term are the Department of Land and Natural Resources Division of Forestry and Wildlife, Maui Forest Bird Recovery Project, Maui Nui Botanical Gardens and The Nature Conservancy.
