• Akaku Maui Community Media workshops. “Free Intro to Community TV” will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday and “Video Editing Using iMovie” will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 12th. • Maui Nui Marine Resource Council, presents a special event “An Evening with Nainoa Thompson: “Malama Honua (Care for Island Earth): In a Changing World, Hope Comes With Action.” will be from 6 p.m., Tuesday at the historic ‘Iao Theater. Don’t miss this inspiring presentation, it is presented as part of the “Know Your Ocean” Speaker Series with support from the County of Maui Mayor’s Office of Economic Development and Maui Visitors Bureau. • Thrive & Survive Fall Series workshop, will be from 9:30 a.m. to noon, Wednesdays through November 6th at the Cameron Center, 95 Mahalani St., Ste. 8, Wailuku. The subjects covered include: Techniques to deal with issues such as frustration, fatigue, pain, isolation, poor sleep and living with uncertainty. Appropriate exercise for regaining and maintaining flexibility, and endurance. Making decisions about treatment and complementary therapies. Communicating effectively with family, friends, and health professionals. Nutrition, setting priorities, and relationships. Friends, family & caregivers are welcome to join.
