Sugar Museum Art Contest for students scheduled
The Alexander & Baldwin Sugar Museum is accepting entries for its third annual art contest, “Remembering Sugar: How Sweet It Was.”
All public and private Maui school students in grades 3-12 are invited to participate.
Art submissions must depict sugar and plantation life on Maui and will be judged in three grade divisions: grades 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three winners in each grade division; first place is $75, second place, $50, and third place, $25.
Hand-delivered and mailed entries must be received by 4 p.m. April 6 at the sugar museum, 3957 Hansen Road, Puunene, 96784.
Winners will be announced and notified by 5 p.m. April 13. Winning entries will be turned into a museum exhibit on display to the public.
