Ruby’s Diner to open in Kaanapali

Ruby’s Diner opens its second Maui restaurant today at Whalers Village in Kaanapali.

The 1960s-themed restaurant will serve breakfast, from 7:30 to 11 a.m.; lunch and dinner thereafter until 9 p.m.

“We are thrilled to be opening our second location in Maui and have included special menu items to appeal to island residents and visitors to this iconic slice of paradise,” said Doug Cavanaugh, chief executive officer-founder of Ruby’s Diner Inc.

Ruby’s other Maui restaurant is at the Queen Ka’ahumanu Center.

The restaurant’s design elements are inspired by the Googie architecture of Los Angeles coffee shops, popular in the region when Cavanaugh was growing up.
