Martin No. 10 is an approximately 2-year-old, 5-pound, orange-and-white male domestic short hair mix. He has not been neutered. Martin was found in Haiku and came to the Maui Humane Society’s Puunene shelter on Nov. 12. “He is great with other cats and can often be found cuddled up with his fellow felines,” society officials said. “Martin is a sociable yet not demanding cat. He does well with adults and small children.”

Pet of the Week

Jasper No. 94C is a 2-year-old, 52-pound, brown male Chinese Shar-Pei mix. He has been neutered. Jasper was left at the Maui Humane Society’s Puunene shelter with no explanation on Oct. 26. “Jasper knows sit, down and rolls over for belly rubs,” society officials said. “He is very gentle when taking treats and gets along very well with other dogs.”

Pet of the Week

Ray No. 17G is an approximately 9-month-old, gray-and-white, male domestic short hair mix. He weighs nearly 6 pounds and has been neutered. Ray came to Maui Humane Society on Oct. 17 when his owners were found hoarding very sick animals, forcing the society’s humane enforcement officers to take them away. Ray had severely infected eyes and needed surgery to remove them. Expenses for the surgery were paid out of the society’s Hope Fund. “Ray is recovering famously and is very affectionate to visitors, volunteers and staff,” society officials said.

Pet of the Week

Hugo No. 83 is 2-year-old, approximately 52-pound, black and white male pitbull (American pitbull terrier) mix. He has not been neutered. Hugo came to the Maui Humane Society’s Puunene shelter on Oct. 12 when he was found as a stray on Mehameha Loop in Puunene. “He is very outgoing, doing well with people and fellow dogs. Hugo likes to run and play with toys and is very affectionate,” society officials said.
