Subaru Hawaii donates $10K to the Maui Humane Society

Subaru Hawaii announced that its “Share the Love” sales event raised $5,000 for the Maui Humane Society and $5,000 for the Hawaii Wildlife Fund. And, as the winner of Subaru Hawaii’s Facebook voting contest, the Maui Humane Society earned an extra $5,000, for a grand total of $10,000. A check presentation was held Jan. 16 at Servco Subaru Maui in Kahului.

Across the state, the “Share the Love” sales event donated a total of $35,000 to six nonprofits: Maui Humane Society, Hawaii Wildlife Fund, Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii, Hawaiian Humane Society, Kauai Humane Society and Hawaii Island Humane Society. The campaign donated $250 for every new vehicle sold by Subaru Hawaii dealers from Nov. 1 to Dec. 31, up to $30,000.

In addition, the public voted for its favorite participating nonprofit organization on Subaru Hawaii’s Facebook page, crowning Maui Humane Society as the winner, good for the additional $5,000.

“We are thrilled to give back to the community by supporting our local nonprofit partners,” said Glenn Inouye, Servco’s senior vice president, representing Subaru Hawaii.

“The Maui Humane Society is thrilled to have been chosen to partner with Subaru Hawaii for their Share the Love campaign this year. We worked very hard at getting those votes, and our efforts paid off. Our supporters really came out in force,” said Jennifer McGurn, the society’s director of development and community outreach.
