Portuguese Association of Maui awards two scholarships

The Portuguese Association of Maui awarded two grants of $1,000 each to Raeann Mukini and Grant Wolf on July 5 during a luncheon ceremony held at the Cameron Center.

Mukini will begin her junior year at the University of Hawaii at Hilo this fall, pursuing a degree in business administration. She is the daughter of Robina Cagasan of Kahului and the late Joseph Mukini Jr. Mukini is a 2013 graduate of Maui High School and received a scholarship from the Portuguese Association that year.

Wolf will enter his second year at the University of Hawaii Maui College in the fall. In his first year, Wolf attained a GPA of 4.0. His goal is to attain a doctorate in history, specializing in Hawaiian history. Wolf spent part of his childhood with his great-grandmother Maria Elaina Perreira, also known as Mary Jane Perry, who served as a U.S. Army staff sergeant in World War I.
