A&B’s Grant Chun will lead Maui Heart Walk on April 2

The American Heart Association invites Maui residents to the Maui Heart Walk on April 2 at Keopuolani Park in Wailuku.

The event is designed to bring families and friends together to learn, share and practice lifestyle habits that will lead to healthier, longer lives free of heart disease and stroke.

“Walking is low-risk, easy to start and easy to stick with. It can help keep you fit and reduce your risk of serious diseases, like heart disease, stroke, diabetes and more,” said Grant Chun, vice president of A&B Properties Inc., chair of the 2016 Heart Walk.

“I encourage Maui companies and individuals from the community to form a team and participate in the walk,” Chun added. “It’s a great way to foster team building, make new friends, do something good for the community, and do something good for your personal health and the health of your ohana.”

Participants may walk to remember those they’ve lost. A post-walk celebration at Keopuolani Park will offer opportunities for free health screenings, health education, a chance to learn “hands-only” CPR, and a keiki fun tent.

Register to participate online at www.mauiheartwalk.org, or call 244-7185 for information. The event is free, but donations are encouraged. All donations support the American Heart Association Hawaii Division’s efforts to improve health in Maui County.

The Heart Walk is sponsored nationally by Subway and locally by Alexander & Baldwin Inc.
