Hale Mahaolu’s Eileen Miranda retires after 36 years of service

A celebration was recently held at Hale Mahaolu’s Elua Community Hall honoring Eileen Miranda for her 36-plus years at Hale Mahaolu as executive secretary to Roy Katsuda, executive director.

Miranda was honored for her years of service by her colleagues, friends, family and many residents of Hale Mahaolu. Maui County Council Member Gladys Baisa was in attendance and presented Miranda with a proclamation signed by all Maui council members. Mayor Alan Arakawa also sent a signed acknowledgement honoring Miranda’s contributions to the community.

Miranda spearheaded the Blood Bank drives and represented Hale Mahaolu in many community activities. The staff and board commemorated her years with Hale Mahaolu with a tenor Pono ukulele, a wristwatch and special photo compilations spanning her history with the nonprofit.

Katsuda expressed his appreciation to Miranda for her contributions to Hale Mahaolu, the community and to him as his executive secretary.

Hale Mahaolu board President Richard Nishihara also shared his gratitude on behalf of the Hale Mahaolu board of directors for the knowledge and leadership she shared with the board.
