Lahaina educators recognized

Duke’s Beach House recently recognized Trisha Calhoun, Graham Seiki and Keola Rogat of Princess Nahienaena Elementary School as Educator of the Month for March, April and May respectively.

Calhoun, a volunteer from the farming industry, is the school’s resident gardener and was praised for sharing her enthusiasm for agriculture with the students. She also teaches K-2nd-graders about the benefits of healthy eating.

Seiki is the technology coordinator at the school. He was nominated by his peers for going above and beyond for all of the students, including Hawaiian Immersion.

Rogat, the school’s vice principal, was celebrated for his dedication to the staff and students.

“We are so proud to be able to acknowledge the great work that the staff at Princess are providing for the children in West Maui,” said Josh Fukagawa, Duke’s Beach House manager.

Calhoun, Seiki and Rogat were presented with an engraved koa box and a $100 gift certificate to Duke’s Beach House.
