La‘akea Village to benefit from gasoline sales program
La’akea Village has been selected as the second-quarter 2019 beneficiary of the Ohana Fuels “Fuel up. Do Good.” program.
Ohana Fuels partners with nonprofit organizations serving the needs of the local community and donates a portion of the proceeds from every gallon of gasoline purchased at Ohana Fuels stations in the community. During the months of April through June, a portion of all gasoline sales will be donated to La’akea Village.
La’akea Village is a nonprofit, life-sharing community in Paia where families, employees and the participants — youths and adults with autism and/or intellectual disabilities — live, work and learn to thrive as part of an integrated community.
La’akea Village provides special needs individuals safe, affordable and permanent housing in a licensed group home, and along with a day program, farm and gardens, and the La’akea Country Store offers meaningful work, relationships and life skills to participants.
In addition to Ohana Fuels’ donation from gasoline sales during the second quarter, there will also be car washes at the Wakea Avenue Ohana Fuels location on May 11 and June 15 from 1 to 4 p.m.
