Maui Seasons for Peace hosting Peace Heroes awards ceremony

Ron Panzo, creator of the Lei of Aloha for World Peace, is one of the individuals who will be honored at the Maui Peace Hero Awards.

Maui Seasons for Peace will present its annual Maui Peace Hero Awards event from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the University of Hawaii Maui College Pa’ina Building on the ground floor.

Maui Peace Heroes are “ordinary people doing extraordinary things.” Selected to receive the award at the ceremony are:

• Melinda Kathleen Clark — author, “Waymakers for Peace.”

• Paris Nabavi — director, Nabavi Legacy Fund.

• Ron Panzo — creator of the Lei of Aloha for World Peace.

• Joseph Daniel Pluta — director, West Maui Improvement Foundation.

• Organization recipient — Habitat for Humanity.
