Maui schools in Hiki No program bring home awards

Hawaii students from Hiki No: The Nation’s First Statewide News Network brought home nearly 20 percent of the awards at the prestigious Student Television Network Convention, a rigorous student media competition held recently in Seattle. The four-day event — open to intermediate and high schools across the U.S. — played host to 3,000 students and teachers.

Twenty-three Hawaii schools competed and won a total of 35 awards.
