Rotary Club of Lahaina benefit will help West Maui students

The Rotary Club of Lahaina and the Lahaina Rotary Youth Foundation will present “A Night Under the Stars” from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the Lahaina Jodo Mission.

Entertainment includes Grammy Award winning George Kahumoku Jr. and the Lahainaluna Jazz Band.

“This is our biggest event of the year,” said Darryl Ng, president of the Rotary Club of Lahaina. “We generate 50 percent of our scholarship money at this event, with just under half coming directly from club members and our foundation endowments. Last year we gave out $20,000 in scholarships to help fund college educations for Lahainaluna, Molokai and Maui Prep seniors.”

Tickets are on sale as a $60 donation for general admission. VIP tickets are also available for a $100 donation, and full tables of 10 are available for an $800 donation. Because the Lahaina Rotary Youth Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all ticket sales and silent auction purchases are tax deductible. Ticket prices include a full buffet, drinks and entertainment. The event is BYOB.

For more information, visit rotarycluboflahaina.org. Tickets can be purchased through the club’s Facebook page and at www.eventbrite.com by searching Rotary Lahaina.
