HADK awards scholarships to 5 public school students

The Hawaii Alpha Delta Kappa Gamma Chapter awarded $4,200 in scholarships to five students of Maui public schools, class of 2019. The recipients were honored at the chapter’s April 23 meeting.

The three recipients of the $1,000 scholarships are Joshua Lee and Cassidy Matsuda from Maui High School and Stacia Eng from Lahainaluna High School.

Lee is the son of Steven and Sue Lee and will be attending the University of Washington.

Matsuda is the daughter of Mark and Gwyn Matsuda and will be attending the University of Oregon, studying business administration.

Eng is the daughter of Kelcie Matsui and will be attending Washington State University to obtain a degree in accounting.

The chapter also awarded two $600 scholarships to graduates who will be attending University of Hawaii Maui College.

This year, the scholarships went to Mark Cabalse and Trisia Cabaccang of Maui High School. Cabalse is the son of Dominador and Maggie Cabalse and Cabaccang’s parents are Perfecto and Geraldine Cabaccang.

Founded in 1947, HADK is an international honorary sorority for women educators. Members are dedicated to improving education and the teaching profession, increasing world understanding through cultural exchanges, and making a difference in their communities through volunteer services.
