MAPA Garden Party planned for Oct. 6

The 31st annual Garden Party at the Yokouchi Family Estate, located at 2471 W. Main St. in Wailuku, is being held by Maui Academy of Performing Arts (MAPA) on Oct. 6 from 1 to 5 p.m. 

Tickets cost $85 in advance and $95 at the door. Purchases can be made at mauigardenparty.com or by calling 244-8760.

The event is for adults 21 and over.

This annual event raises funds for MAPA’s educational performing arts programs. 

The “Ambassador of Hawaiian Music,” Amy Hanaialii, is headlining the entertainment. The alumna of Maui Academy of Performing Arts is a five-time Grammy nominee and 18-time Na Hoku Hanohano-winner.

She performed in multiple shows with the organization, most recently playing Eva Peron in MAPA’s production of “Evita.” 

“MAPA plays such an important role on Maui,” she said. “It is important that we all continue to support and preserve the performing arts so that the future generations have the same, if not better, opportunities we had.” 

Also featured at the event is cuisine provided by Maui’s restaurants, with specially selected wines.

Catering the event will be 808 on Main, Betty’s Beach Cafe, Bistro Casanova, Cafe O’Lei Restaurants, Duke’s Beach House, Fleetwood’s on Front Street, Fork and Salad, Hula Grill, Mill House, Maui Coffee Roasters, Maui Tacos, Mollywood Events and Catering, Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman, Sugar Beach Events and Three’s Bar and Grill.

There will be silent and live auction items, including original art on site by local artists Becky Paschoal, George Allan, Joseph Fletcher, Ken Lloyd and Steve Turnbull.
