MHS seeks band donations
Maui High School Marching Band is seeking donations to participate in the Western Band Association’s Conquistador Classic on Nov. 2 in Southern California, which features some of the best marching bands in California.
Without a sponsor who previously transported instruments, props, and equipment for free, the band is now seeking help to fund additional equipment transportation cost exceeding $13,000.
The band is seeking to arrange shipment without having to dip into the students’ portion of the band budget. Other funding is also needed.
The total cost for sending 123 students, staff and equipment exceeds $250,000, said Band Director Kerry Wasano.
Donations may be made via the fundraising page: secure.

Checks can also be made out to the Maui High Band Booster Club and mailed to 660 Lono Ave, Kahului, 96732. The booster club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation.
The Maui High School Band is active year-round and is continually practicing for various performances. The band’s full show will be revealed at the school’s homecoming game on Sept. 28 at War Memorial Stadium.
