Dunes Maui Lani golf course hosts Family Fun Day
In partnership with First Tee Hawaii, The Dunes Maui Lani golf course hosted a Family Fun Day Dec. 21 at its driving range and practice putting green.
The day began with various youth activities, skill stations, golf instruction and refreshments. King Kekaulike High School graduate, college standout and professional golfer Sam Cyr stopped by for a quick Q-and-A, and also hit a few balls for the crowd.
The Dunes Maui Lani is the only course on Maui participating in the First Tee Hawaii program. First Tee Hawaii is a chapter of First Tee, an international organization with a mission to “impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.” Programs vary and are designed to accommodate ages 7-18.
“We are so excited to launch this amazing program. Our ultimate goal is to introduce golf to a greater youth audience, be a positive influence and create lifelong golfers,” said Scott Reinhert, director of golf at the Dunes Maui Lani golf course.
First Tee Hawaii programs are scheduled to begin in late January. For more information or to register, visit thefirstteehawaii.org or call (808) 873-0422.
