Hyatt raises funds for cancer research

The Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa raised $35,000 in its Paddle for a Cure fundraiser for Susan G. Komen Hawaii, which supports breast cancer research and care. The event took place from Aug. 30 to Oct. 31. Donations were gathered from local residents and travelers while dining at restaurants, such as Japengo and Umalu; renting a Cabana for a Cure designed by Honolulu-based Jana Lam; experiencing the resort’s nightly luau, Drums of the Pacific; participating in Drive for a Cure at Kaanapali Golf Courses; bidding in the silent auction that had items such as stand-up paddleboards and nights at other Hyatts. In the past six years, the Hyatt Maui’s Paddle for a Cure has raised almost $200,000 for the foundation.
